Helping a mid-century modern synagogue adapt to meet today's needs

Modernizing a Historic Building

The first phase of work involved a full roof replacement that included restoration to the parapet, masonry, coping stones, and flashing. The second phase overhauled the main sanctuary to create a larger, more flexible space that can accommodate contemporary worship styles. We worked closely with the architect and several artists, including Paul Housberg, whose glass installation is a stunning addition to the synagogue.

Creating Accessibility for Contemporary Worship

These projects were on a tight schedule to complete renovations by the October High Holidays. We worked with the contractor to overcome delays in the millwork and have the sanctuary open on time. Subsequent phases included renovations to the courtyard to create space for Shabbat family worship services, and current project will provide a new entrance and lobby addition to address accessibility.
