Becker & Frondorf provided project management services for the renovation of Hotel AKA Boston Common, prominently located near the Boston Common, State House, and Financial District. The renovation marked the property’s transformation into a modern luxury destination, combining the cultural energy of the city with contemporary design and residential comfort.
The scope included the renovation of 142 guestrooms with updated finishes and furniture, as well as a complete redesign of the hotel’s reception and lobby areas. The new lobby features a custom-designed bar with programmable lighting by Studio Atomic and furniture by designer Rafael de Cárdenas, whose creative vision incorporated torqued architectural elements to evoke a dreamlike and stylish environment inspired by 1980s hospitality culture.
